I bought this for my wife's bike as she has just got into cycling and wanted to be able to listen to things while she rides. I own a Flip 7 which I absolutely love, so I was expecting much of the same, and the Grip mostly delivers on that expectation. The waterproofing is excellent which means that riding in rain is not a worry, and I like the size and weight. I think the sound is punchy enough for the size, but the bass frequencies arre not as strong as I would like. For podcasts and lighter music, this speaker is perfect, but for our tastes we think the Grip is a little lacking in terms of drive for heavier music. The other thing to mention is cost - its a good price, but the Flip is not that much more which, if you can afford it, is a much stronger performer in terms of audio quality and battery life.

A: Thanks for your question. Our JBL Grip and JBL Flip 5 and 6 can not be paired together as they use different wireless connections. Our Grip features Auracast, while our Flip 5 and 6 use JBL PartyBoost. These two systems are not compatible, meaning you won’t be able to link the speakers for synchronized playback. To connect multiple JBL speakers, they must support the same pairing protocol.

A: Thanks for your question. Our JBL Grip does not support multipoint connection, so it can not connect to two devices at the same time. However, it does support multi-speaker connection through Auracast, which allows you to connect two or more JBL Grip speakers or other JBL Auracast-enabled speakers together.

A: Thanks for your question. Our Auracast-enabled speakers are currently intended to be able to receive Auracast signals from other Harman products. While they may be able to connect to non-Harman products, we can't guarantee full compatibility.
