Requires a phone to work
Regarding the reset code, this tool has been successfully used on thousands of vehicles. Before attempting to erase codes, please ensure the following conditions are met:
The underlying fault has been properly diagnosed and repaired
Ignition is Key On, Engine Off (KOEO)
Vehicle is in Park (P) or Neutral (N) with the engine not running
If a code does not clear, it typically indicates one of the following:
The fault is still active, or
The code is an OBD II Permanent Diagnostic Trouble Code (PTC)
NOTE: Permanent DTCs cannot be cleared by any scan tool, including dealership or retail scanners. These codes are automatically cleared by the vehicle only after the repair is completed and the vehicle has been driven through the required OBD II drive cycle.

Q: How to troubleshoot this meter for a 2004 Pontiac Montana I can't seem to get any power to the meter I must be doing something wrong??? Please help? I just purchased it 3 days ago and still puzzled??
4 years agoA: I believe your unit needs a base battery to function. Also, have you followed the instructions to the letter? You're supposed to turn the car to the On mode once the scanner is plugged in, at which point it kicks into life.

a year agoA: It should. I run it in my 2019 Ram 1500 classic Eco Diesel and it has no problems so I do not see that it should be any different then your 2017 2500 Ram Diesel.

Q: Will this read transmission codes for a 2001 f250 5.4 gas 2x4
3 years agoA: We have 2 different 3030RS versions. One will just read and clear check engine codes, and the other version will read and clear check engine and ABS codes. Both versions will read transmission codes if the check engine light is on due to a transmission issue. Examples of transmission codes the 3030RS reads range between P0700-P0799.
