After 5 years it worked and saved me and my family

This was plugged in a wall for 5 years and I was always uncertain whether this thing is ever going to work when I need it to until this past weekend. It saved me and my family.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Good alarm and a great price!

I bought this alarm when it was on sale for virtually half price. Brought it home and plugged it in, it powered up and has been quietly working problem free ever since. The only thing I wish it had was a periodic blinking green light to reassure me that it is continually working. The red LED light is continuously on, of course and, so far, has (thankfully) only ever shown "0".

    Erratic alarm after 2 years

My alarm (bought 2015) went off late at night when neither the gas furnace or water heater were working. Changed the battery - which was not bad at 8.8 volts and put in new battery. 1 week later the alarm goes off late at night again (same conditions) with the display blinking all led's but no reading of how much CO (if in fact CO was present). I believe this alarm is malfunctioning and now have to get a new one (not Garrison). This should have lasted 10 years. A malfunctioning CO alarm frightens you from going back to sleep as the CO uncertainty is stressful. So best to have 2 CO alarms in the house. - not Garrison.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Turnable prongs .

Great product, but turnable prongs don't stay put. A slight push on a body and prongs turn.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    • A: The questions is being asked on item 46-0325-0. There is no 46-0352-2 listed with Canadian Tire at this time. please call Kidde tech support at 1-800-880-6788. also verify manufacturing date as 46-0325-0 might be 6-7 years old (prior to 2014, CSA did not approve ANY CO alarms for more than 7 years in Canada)

Q: What's the manufactured date on this device?

    1 Answer
    • A: The date of manufacture is on the back of each alarm - nothing is on the packaging. Depending on the year of manufacture, it will have either a 7 year (prior to 2014) or 10 year (2014 and after) lifespan. CSA did not approve any CO alarms for more than 7 years before 2014.

Q: Replacement Date of Garrison Digital Carbon Monoxide Alarm Hi , I purchased FOUR Garrison Digital Carbon Monoxide Alarms model 46-0325-2 and noted the replacement date is 10 years. Can you please confirm - is this co alarm good for 10 years or it 7 years? Thanks for your reply. Douglas Leighton

    • A: Depending of the year of Manufacture…. So anything since 2013 – your model last 10 years from the date of activation . Prior to 2013 – they would have lasted only 7 years.

Q: Does this product actually detect natural gas? I purchased it based on the description online indicating it does detect natural gas. However, the packaging of the product itself does not specify natural gas. I am concerned that the online description may not be up to date.

Q: Sensitivity? I'm curious how low a ppm level will be detected and displayed as most units without displays will alarm around 400 ppm. It would be nice to see if there are lower levels existing long before an actual danger level is reached and alarms sound.

    1 Answer
    • A: • If the alarm is exposed to 400 ppm of CO, IT MUST ALARM BETWEEN 4 and 15 MINUTES. • If the alarm is exposed to 150 ppm of CO, IT MUST ALARM BETWEEN 10 and 50 MINUTES. • If the alarm is exposed to 70 ppm of CO, IT MUST ALARM BETWEEN 60 and 240 MINUTES.
