Stopped working after 2 seasons of use

After two seasons of use, This is now going to the trash bin along with other poorly made electronics. Two seasons of use in Toronto generally means about four months of use per season which equals eight months total in other words a total waste of time and money. I’ve tried to find a Garrison website and that’s nonexistent. That should tell you a lot about this. Do not buy. A waste of time and money and total aggravation. It wasn’t exactly cheap either.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Great when it works

Should have read the large number of negative reviews on this unit before purchase. As others have written, it works for one summer season then no longer works, and by then warranty is expired.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Only lasted 2 summers !

I purchased this unit in the summer of 2017 from Canadian Tire and it worked fine for 2 summers with no problems. When I turned it on this summer it was basically a fan and no water or dehumidification happining. Since the 1 year Canadian Tire warranty was over and after reading the reviews I decided to call Garrison customer service. Their customer service seemed good and they directed me to a website... www.achumidreturns.com. and I was told I could get a new unit if I filled out the form. The problem is I cannot find the Canadian Tire receipt that they want a picture of. I decided to take a trip to Canadian Tire store that I bought it from and see by some slim chance that they would have a record of the purchase...I was told it was too long ago. So I guess I'm out of luck with a humid basement and no dehumidifier. Before I purchased the Garrison I had a Sears Kenmore unit for over 25 years and we left it at our last house and it was still working great. Looking back I should have taken it with us.

    Two years and done.

Bought almost exactly two years ago, pump failed a two months ago but water would still collect in the bucket so I had to pull it out and empty it. Today the fill sensor stopped working, so now water overflows out of the bucket. Throwing it out and never buying Garrison again.

    • A: It does come with the drain hose. It is quite long, and is about 1/4 inch thick. Very flexible. About the hypo-allergenic filter, I don't know, I'll have to look in my owner's manual and maybe post the answer again.

Q: Water flow over after full bucket ,not turn off by self .why?

    1 Answer
    • A: Pull out the water tank and you'll see the black slider at the left top. Dehumidifier doesn't not turn off by itself may be that the slider is blocked. Press the slider and let it slide smoothly. If the slider is broken, then it wouldn't work. Please see image below.

    1 Answer
    • A: Hi, There’s a low-temperature feature which enables this dehumidifier to operate in temperatures as low as 3.2 ºC (38 ºF). But frost will accumulated when the unit keep working in such a low ambient temp and humidity can not be lower down.
