A: Oui, cela peut être utilisé pour un radiateur de plinthe. Le thermostat maintient la température pour laquelle il est réglé. Le radiateur de plinthe s'allumera si la température descend en dessous du réglage et s'éteindra si la température atteint le réglage ou conserve le réglage.

Q: Will this thermostat actually turn off the baseboard heater if you are away and don't need it on?

A: The thermostat will maintain the temperature it is set for. The baseboard heater will come on if the temperature falls below the setting and will shut off if when the temperature meets the setting or maintains the setting. It will not actually turn off the baseboard. End user can set the temperature lower to reduce the # of times the baseboard heater comes on but if they want to turn off the baseboard heater would be best to shut off the breaker.

Q: How exactly does a TRIAC made it quieter to use?

A: A TRIAC switch controls the electricity on a circuit board rather than with the moving parts of a relay or contact switch. A mechanical relay (controlled either mechanically or electrically) makes a click sound as it turns on and off. A TRIAC control will not make this click. Furthermore it can turn the power off and on without clicks to pulse the electricity into a standard electric baseboard to maintain a steady heat.
