This is a tough one...

The unit I got did not have two ducts at the rear, as pictured, it only had one. This was important, because if you have two, the evaporation coil is isolated from the interior air. The one I purchased (and promptly returned) had one duct -- it was taking cool, dry, climatized air from the interior, and shooting it out the single exhaust duct, outside. This created a negative pressure in the room, which meant that warm, wet air would be forced to come in through any crack it could find and completely negate any benefit from this unit. Terribly inefficient design. As far as I was concerned, it was nothing more than an electricity suck, and it also cannot do any of its 3 major functions (heat, cool, and dehumidify) at the same time, you have to select only one at a time, which means it was even more useless for my two of the main reasons I bought it (cooling + dehumidifying simultaneously).
No, I do not recommend this product.

Only one exhaust hose. Not 2 as shown in ad.

Purchased my Garrison portable home comfort system in late August, 2011 and there is only one location for a vent hose connection at the back of the unit. Everything else in the ad looks the same. The vent hose is larger in circumference than most portable floor models but it expands to about 6 feet in length.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Can I run the dehumidifier without the air conditioner going? I could also use some detail info on the dry mode. thx

A: You can ONLY run the dehumidifier without the A/C going -- you press a button which cycles through A/C, heat, dehumidify, or fan, but none of those can be used simultaneously. Dry mode does not allow you to set a humidity level, in fact there is no humidity readout on the display at all.

A: It is pictured with 2 ducts, but I and one other reviewer got units with only one rear duct.

Q: Where can I find instruction manual online? I bought this unit second hand and it did not come with the instruction manual. I can't seem to find anything online and the symbols on the unit don't quite make sense without the manual. Thank you.

Q: What are the size dimensions of this unit? I can't seem to find the measurements on this unit anywhere in the "Features" or the "Specification" sections. Will this fit in a car or do I need a van or truck to transport it from store to home?

A: Because you can not transport the unit on it's side, a truck, minivan, or trailer will be required for transport.
