Works Great

Bought this unit 3 years ago and it still works great. Easy to install and cools a large area ( 400 sq. ft.) efficiently. It is a little loud when it is working on high but I consider it about average on noise level for a window unit.

This unit is pretty quiet even on high, we have a much older LG air conditioner and it didn't come fully assembled like they do now so it's gotten quite noisy over the years. This unit is silent compared to that one.
Bought it for our second bedroom in our apartment in the hopes it would cool the bedroom end of our apartment (and so I wouldn't have to run the floor model in our master anymore)
After less than 24hrs both bedrooms are at 74 degrees on a 35 + day (we are on the 8th flr facing east) - super impressed !!

Finally gave in to the hot days we've been having and bought this 10,000 BTU Garrison-very happy with it so far. It was a bit tricky to get into our window but once in, it cooled our kitchen beautifully and the cool air extended into other parts of the house too (up to about 450 sq. ft) No problems with it at all once installed-recommended.

Q: can you add some R-410A cooling refrigirant in that machine ?

A: Hello Marc, Traditional window AC units are not meant to be recharged in the say that mini split systems and/or central units are. However, certain repair centres do offer this type of service. You may require the yellow pages and/or google to assist you in finding a suitable repair centre near you. Often time though, cost of repair can end up costing about as much as a new warrantied system. That would be left to your discretion. Thanks. Sunrise Tradex service team.

Q: How much current (amp) does this unit take? Not much good if it blows the breaker

A: This unit is rated at roughly 10 amps indicating that a standard 15 amp breaker is needed on the power outlet. If the customer states that the breaker is tripping, it is probably because he plugged the machine in with a power bar/extension cable, or there is something else plugged into the same outlet.

Q: WHat is that tube on.... That tube sticking out the right front side of the 12,000btu garrison isn't there on the 10,000btu version, will I need a bucket to collect water?

A: I'm not sure what you are referencing as we do not have tubes ''stick out'' on our units. If you are referencing drains on previous window units, our newer units do not have drains on them. Instead the water is evaporated with the help of the outdoor fan. When the water level inside the unit rises, the fan will splash built up condensation onto the condenser coils at the back of the unit and said condensation will evaporate.
