A: yes but you will have to drill holes in the bottom for drainage or fill the bottom will stones for the same reason

A: The lid goes on very snug I doubt that any animal would be able to get it off but I can tell you that PA hardware store has the same size can as this one metal for cheaper and it has a locking lid.

Q: Can mice get into this can when the lid is secured on properly. I want to store a tent in my shed but I can't risk mouse chewing.

A: Our house has had a problem with mice, but we've not had any animals get into this garbage can and the can is left outside of the house. We've also not secured the lid any other way other than placing it on top of the can. Raccoons have opened our green organics bin several times when the latch wasn't properly closed and rifled through our recycling bins, but so far, so good with this metal bin.

Q: Is it waterproof?

A: Canadian Tire answered that it wouldn't be watertight I beg to differ the can is metal and it's an outdoor can it's meant to be used outdoors so of course it would be waterproof. I've had this can I've used it outside and nothing happened to it in the rain and no water got inside either the lid fits on super snug.

Q: Can this can be used to put it outside for garbage men to collect garbage? Would it withstand them throwing it to the ground etc or is it not an intended use? Does anybody have experience using it this way?

A: The answer is YES, these cans are made for refuse collection and should withstand typical handling. Please be advised that these cans are unsealed and meant for dry storage only, so a liner and/or bagging the trash contents prior to filling is highly recommended to avoid unwanted leakage.

A: Canadian Tire answered that it's 26.50" in height which is not correct, I've had this can and I can tell you that it's definitely taller than that. I wish Canadian Tire would answer correctly this is so frustrating for people to be given incorrect info.

Q: What is the height of the can? The specifications state 2.21 ft., I've had this can in the past and it's definitely more than that in height.
