Absolute Junk

I bought and installed a pair of these on a small, light 1' x 6" laundry shoot door. they replaced identical brackets that were already installed when we bought the house 20 years ago. I've already had to go out and buy another pair from a competing brand becasue these are totally inadequate - cheap, flimsy and simply unable to open or close smoothly. The new brackets I just bought for exactly the same price are like my original pair. These truly should be taken off the shelves.

The instructions are too vague. Need to include how far from the edge of the lid to mount the support. Also need to add how far from the corner to mount the support.
