Out with the old!

My old Foodsaver (possibly 25- 30 years old!) finally gave up and stopped sealing. My new Foodsaver VS2130 is wonderful! I love the storage for a roll of bag material and especially love the built in cutter! No more wrestling with scissors, trying to make a straight edge. A bit of a learning curve at the end of the vacuum process - waiting for the sealing to happen. Once I figured it out, all was good!
Yes, I recommend this product.

Broke warranty is worthless. No replacement offered. Only a refund but other models not on sale.

Cutter won't work

I was given this as Christmas gift and I can't cut with the built-in cutter

Q: I bought this machine 3 days ago and I cannot get it to vacume seal. I was doing cut beans . They where blanched for 3 min and put in an ice cold water and then let drain for 1/2 hr. I tried to seal and it did nothing. I used the moist as the beans wet.

A: Bought one this weekend to do brisket. Definity took a few tries to figure it out, but once we did, we did get consistent success. We just made sure the open end of the bag was bent down towards the bottom of the green drip tray....that seemed to work for us.

A: It looks like a vac1060 if it is deeper in the back and slopes downwards towards the feont where it is slimmer.
