    I highly do not recommend this device it's an open invitation to hackers And for individuals to in fact Record you while you're in your home Hackers predators whatever you want to call them they actually can hack and do it or tap and do it and find out when you're not home so they can come in and rob you they can erase the data remotely that stored on the SD card or in the memory bank get into all of your Gmail even your Wi-Fi alter things and get information such as passwords to your banking information and what not I highly do not recommend this

    Love other Ezviz cameras but DP1 has some issues to correct

    I am a EzViz customer currently using 15 ezviz cameras that decided to add DP1 to the collection... DP1 Installation was relatively easy. The base-station inside the door runs on built in battery and is removable for charging (the camera and all features are disabled while the base-station is removed). The battery appears to last ~1 week so a little bit of pain when it comes to the frequency of charging. The white balance of the camera is not very good (and no way to adjust it) but if your door does not face a bright background I guess this wouldn't apply. The night vision is not very good unless someone is really close to the door. The biggest issue I have is that the automatic notification trigger designed to send notification when someone is close to the door keeps going off when any background movement from trees or vehicles are driving by on the road. I tried setting the sensitivity to the lowest settings but I still get the alarm at the door and notification on my smartphone (every 4-5 minutes) throughout the day. I am annoyed with it and have called EzViz support to see if there are any plans to bring out a new Firmware updates to address this issue but nothing yet. I can't even really return this item as it was installed on my front door and I had to drill a 20mm hole on the door. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping the EzViz will come up with a new firmware that will address this. Until that time, I had to disable this feature which means I will not have a proactive notification when a delivery person simply drops parcels at my door. I will drop a follow up review when the issues as described is addressed by EzViz As it sits right now, I am disappointed to be able to give it only 2 stars.

    Q: Does the touchscreen display need to be right on the other side of the door (near the doorbell), or can it be down in the basement? We are thinking of this for a basement suite doorbell where the main door is on the upper level.

    • A: Yes you can use it remotely but have to recharge the remote unit after a few days.  By the way, the unit is still available in some places as of mai 2021.

    • A: Yes it has a recording option and snapshot. It  is worth the money but i have some issue right now after 7 months of working perfectly. It hangs up. Customer support are very helpful anyway. Still on the process of fixing.

    Q: Is the bell water and weather proof? A lot if water touches my front door in raining. Is it durable product and work of several year in Edmonton weather?

    • A: Yes it is, to a certain degree. -10ºC ~ 45ºC, Humidity 95% or less (no condensation) is the operating temperature. So if the product is constantly being soaked by water or temperatures go beyond what is listed, then it will not operate as normal.
