Too Much

I dont like this vaccum as much as I like the old one. The battery does not last on carpeted surfaces as long as my old one and the suction is unberable for certain areas of the carpettting.

So very disappointed.

So very disappointed. It hurts to use, it's so heavy. I developed a blister near my thumb and wrist pain. Also, having to switch heads from carpet to hard wood floors is greatly annoying. The battery doesn't last long enough to finish vacuuming my top floor.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Best vacuum ever!

Received the vacuum a couple of weeks ago coincidentally on my birthday but may still be the best gift ever! Have had a Dyson pet model before and gave to my daughter when I got the new model and she is ecstatic. I have a long haired cat and large hairy dog that sheds continuously despite regular grooming parlor visits, baths and daily combing (cat too). I have bad arthritis but am able to use the Dyson. No problem changing attachments and wand. Love the new 'no hair gets stuck' in the comb roller heads (can't believe it does what it's supposed to do!). Am literally shocked how much dust and hair comes out of the dog's bed, our few small carpets, and the dog (she loves being vacuumed too - she even lays down and rolls over to switch sides). Love the quietness of operation. Both dog and cat don't run away from it or out of the house when I'm vacuuming (which is daily or every other day). Battery run time is perfect (I actually prefer having a cut off time so I am forced to move on to other tasks). I'm amazed how well thought out everything on the vacuum is (emptying canister, changing wands and attachments,light weight, smooth and easy movement and quietness of heads and rollers on surfaces and underneath furniture) and the extras or improvements (hated the loonie-removal screw to the previous hair roller accessory and cleaning out dog's hair and dirt, LUV that no hair gets caught in the new comb roller hair tool !!! and who knew I would have so many several hundred million particulate suction/pick up days). I do lots of cooking and baking and have 'allergic people' over so I very much want/need a hair/dust free environment. To be honest I haven't tried all the accessories yet but will report back when summer outdoor work is less. I mostly use the little hair roller accessory and the dual carpet/hardwood floor accessory. The laser light floor tool definitely highlights dust hair etc and clean floor well but most times, for ease, I use the dual purpose roller on the floor.

Q: how long does the battery last on a charge? Does the battery life decrease when you vacuum carpet? Lastly, how long does it take to charge the battery?

  • A: Hello, how long the battery lasts really depends on what mode you use the vacuum in. On Eco I can get over 80 minutes of run time when on hard floors, around 50 on auto. On carpets it does decrease slightly. On eco I can get around 60 mins on carpet, about 40 on auto. When vacuuming on auto, on both carpet and hard floor, the time does fluctuate since the vacuum increases power when it detects more dirt. This setting can be disabled though if that’s a concern. To charge from 0% it takes roughly 4 hours but I usually leave it charging when not in use so that way it’s always charged when I need it. I believe you can also purchase extra batteries from Dyson if you’re looking for longer run times, doing so will essentially double your run time. Hope this helps!
