Everyone complaining about this is using it wrong. Ideal place is away from lights, in the shade and over grass. It doesn't work miracles there will still be some mosquitos, but everyone it catches is one less to breed. The earlier in the season and longer you use it the better.

Wow!, I don't know where to start? This unit in particular is fantastic even after only 24 continuous hours of use. We have just hit spring in the North of BC, and it is horrible this year for mosquitos. We have had a more warmer coast like weather this past winter, resulting in more mosquitos and other flying bugs. My parents have had this same unit for over 3 years and standby this unit 100% as effective. I have in the past come and seen the catches this trap caught in its round deep barrel like bottom. And been surprised by the variety of bugs it has caught, So as a early birthday gift, my parents decided to purchase one for me. Set up is pretty easy right out of the box. The lights were already installed and it was just a matter of finding the best space for the Dynatrap to do its thing. It is fairly quiet, sounding much like a fan. The noise when a fly is caught is much like a fly hitting the window not too alarming, we have a 2 acre lot with think trees and bushes, and we have it on our porch in the front which tends to stay shady all day, so for us it was the perfect place. Again after 24 hours our porch has become bearable to relax and enjoy outside again. I highly recommend this particular unit for big yards and areas with thick tree lines and bushes.

Mosquitoes have been terrible for the last couple of weeks and I wanted my back yard back. After reading the other mixed reviews on this product I was not sure if it was going to work well for mosquitoes. I am glad I tried it! After first day/night see attached photo! Looks like a good 100 mosquitoes or more - the next night the same again. I've only had this now for two days but so far the results are good!
