Product Details

The Fiskars Chain Drive Extendable Pole Saw and Pruner, extending from 7' to 16', offers a chain-drive gearing mechanism for maximized power and ease of use. Its oval-shaped pole reduces flex, allowing for controlled cuts and fitting comfortably in your hand. Equipped with a hardened, precision-ground steel blade, it resists rust and cuts smoothly and the double-lock systems ensure the extended pole remains secure. A unique feature is the hooked end which anchors the saw on the branch, preventing blade slippage. Additionally, it includes a sturdy 15" WoodZig® saw for larger branches.

  • Fiskars Chain Drive Pole Saw and Pruner uses a chain-drive gearing mechanism to maximize power to make every cut three times easier than traditional tree pruners

  • Oval-shaped pole greatly reduces flex, allows you to control the direction of the cut and fits the natural shape of your hand for improved comfort

  • Fully hardened, precision-ground steel pruning blade stays sharp, resists rust and cuts smoothly

  • Telescopes to extend your reach farther than other tree pruners

  • Extends up to 16' (4.8 m)

  • Secure double-lock systems ensure extended pole stays put

  • Hooked end anchors saw on branch that prevents the blade from slipping out of the groove

  • Includes one sturdy 15" (38.1 cm) WoodZig® saw with hooked end to cut larger branches

Great tree branch trimmer.

I bought the Fiskars Chain Drive Extendable Pole Saw & Pruner (7 foot - 16 foot). It works as advertised. I had to reach to arms length plus the 16 foot length to make several cuts to take down branches with tent caterpillar nests on them. The branches had no problem cutting the 1/2” to 3/4” branches. As I had to reach so high with the unit (in some wind), it took a bit of patience to keep it under control. I went to other trees that were not so high, and it worked really well to take them down. For the average home owner, this Fiskars unit will serve them well. I live on an acreage, where most all our tools are “professional grade.” As this has some plastic parts in the working end, it may break down in the future under a bigger work load. As for now, I am very satisfied with the unit. 4.5 might have been a better rating.

Thanks for sharing such a thoughtful take. It’s great to hear it handled those higher cuts effectively, even in less‑than‑perfect conditions. Like any extended tool, a steadier setup makes things smoother, and it sounds like it really shines at more typical heights. We appreciate the balanced feedback, and we’re glad it’s earning its place in your tool lineup so far. Fiskars

A well designed pruner/pole saw for high hard to reach areas

Purchased this last month for spring pruning of a very tall tree. This product worked fantastic to get the job done. The diameter design of the pole eliminated any flex when cutting branches while fully extended. I would highly recommend this when pruning trees, especially the very tall ones.

That’s great to hear. Stability matters with tall pruning jobs, and it sounds like the rigid pole design really paid off when fully extended. Glad it handled the task so well, and thanks for the strong recommendation for tackling those hard‑to‑reach branches. Fiskars

Q: Does it cut branches that are 3 inch and 4 inch in diameter?

  • A: Ala, the pruner has a cut capacity of 1 1/4". The hooked Woodzig saw is used for larger branches. It definitely should be able to cut 3-4" branches.

Q: the chain jammed up, I took th chain case apart,it will run free but no way can I tie the rope back in place.

1 Answer
  • A: Here’s a simple way to get it back together: Thread the rope through the top pulley inside the chain-drive housing, making sure it seats cleanly in the groove. Run it down through the channel toward the handle end. Tie a secure knot at the end of the rope where it attaches inside the handle (a simple overhand knot works well). Check the tension by pulling on the rope—your chain-drive should move smoothly without slack. If the rope has frayed or lost length, it may be much easier to install a replacement rope kit, since the pre-sized length ensures the right fit and function.

Q: How do I attach the saw to the Fiskar chain drive pole?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi, you need to unscrew the nut and place the blade. Than put the screw back and here you go. If the blade doesnt work flip it over, it is likely facing the wrong way. good luck
