DEWALT Impact Driver 38-piece Accessory Kit

If you have an impact driver, you will need to get hex-head rapid-change bits for it. This set from DeWalt includes everything you need to get started and extra storage space to accommodate new parts. The kit includes numerous 1 and 2 inch bits designed to work with any drill driver. For some reason DeWalt only offers Phillips bits. (I guess the absence of Robertson bits reflects that Phillips heads are far more common in the US market.) We built a new island in the kitchen, a project involving lots of screwing and we have yet to round out one of the screw bits. There is a small selection of commonly used impact sockets that will take extended use use with an impact driver. So far we've seen now signs of stripping the heads, although we've used them only for light duty applications. We really liked the pivoting head adapter. You can use it sink screws or small bolts at very odd angles. It works very well, but can't say anything about its durability because we haven't used it under really grueling conditions yet. We've found it was happy when we were putting screws into the underside of our island countertop to secure it to the cabinets. The quality of the bits and sockets in this kit is great. The lack of any Robertson bits would have led us to give this set only 3 our of 5 for features, but the inclusion of the pivot head made us raise the score to 4. If you are really into Phillips screws, you will love this set.
