Reliable machine

I want to leave a review because I bought this machine in 2015. It has worked perfect and still does. I know it is aging and I wondered if the same machine was available. I would buy it again

Yes, I recommend this product.

Disappointed

It worked perfectly until one day it just stopped working. I clean it after each use. Now the water floods the reservoir bottom only.. no steam, just floods the counter.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Functionality simple, operationally excellent

I’m very pleased with my new Cuisanart espresso maker. It replaces a unit from another maker that was difficult to use and messy. The Cuisanart is aesthetically pleasing to the eye in my opinion. It is functionally simple to use and it is very easy to see if machine is on or off (unlike replaced unit.) But above all, it makes an EXCELLENT espresso Americano and Latte (my two faves.) you can’t go wrong - do yourself a favor and buy one - send the old machine to Goodwill.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 3 of 3 Questions

Q: My espresso filter baskets get plugged up after a couple of weeks. I buy pre-ground espresso beans. What am I doing wrong?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi, The stainless steel filters and portafilter holder should be rinsed under water immediately after use to remove all coffee particles. You may also use a cleaning pin to clean the opening. Periodically run water through the machine with the portafilter holder in place, but without any ground coffee, to rinse out any lingering coffee particles. The inside of the brew head should be wiped with a damp cloth to remove any coffee particles Thanks

Q: My coffee keeps turning into a big pile of sludge. Am I doing something wrong, or should I return the machine? I am packing the coffee very tightly into the basket.

  • A: Hi, One of the reasons this may be happening is they may not be using a filter basket in the portafilter. The espresso machine comes with 2 filters, one is for a single espresso and the second is for a double espresso. Please refer to the IB (page 7) mentioning how to make a perfect espresso. Thanks
