Built For Life (30 years and still counting)

I've had this very lantern since 1995 and it's worked without issue every time I need it. The key is to make sure you don't leave Naptha in it to slowly evaporate for very long periods. That's why I drain the fuel out at the end of every season. I then pump it full of air and I turn the valve on to clear out any trace amounts of fuel. I'd love to buy a dual fuel lantern to have and use but unfortunately they're only available in the USA.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Built to last

There's simply nothing that compares to Coleman liquid-fuel lanterns and stoves when it comes to durability. With minimum care and maintenance, they will still be burning strong long after we're gone to a better world. That's what the army uses in the Arctic - that's how good they are.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good Lantern! :o)

Over the years I have had a few different models of these lanterns. They are VERY reliable, and useful, and economical, a Camping essential! Just follow the instructions, ( Yes Guys! Read them! ) and you will learn the right way to do things once and for all. I see one reviewer only gave this lantern a one star review! ( But did you notice he mentions using KEROSENE! for fuel! Lol! ) Which brings me to my next bit of info for you guys & gals...These Lanterns now come in dual fuel models! You can run these "dual fuel" models on unleaded gasoline! ( besides the Coleman Naptha gas ) Just think of the savings that will provide!...as well as the convenience of always having some on hand and available! ( in a pinch?..just siphon some out of your car! ) Also, some Models have bigger fuel tanks, as well as having two mantles! Hopefully, Canadian Tire will soon have some of these other models! ( I was actually surprised that they only have this one model available! ). I will always remember Dad taking us camping, and the "Magic" that these Lanterns provide! :o) They also give off a nice substantial amount of free heat in your tent, on a chilly fall evening ( however,..NEVER fall asleep with this going in your tent ). Most tents have a good supply of fresh air circulating in them, but I would still recommend a CO tester, just to be safe! Dad had ours hanging from a wire in the top centre of the tent, and I will always remember laying in my sleeping bag, and staring up at the Lantern as Dad was turning the Lantern out at night. The flames would slowly turn from bright white to yellows and greens, and dance around as they slowly diminished in size and brightness, and after about three minutes it would eventually sputter out. Almost hypnotising, and certainly beautiful! Anyways...that's my two cents worth! Peace Out! :o)

Worked well the first few times then had a problem with pressure and building up an even and steady flow of kerosene. For the amount of use before it broke it really wasn't worth it.
