Circulon Frying Pan, 7.5-in

...I did call Circulon, and was told by the Circulon CS rep no problems thus far have been received re the 7.5" fry pan. The problem is , as another reviewer posted, the pan handle is too long and heavy for this small sized pan. When placed upon a flat surface, such as a ceramic or induction stove top or a counter top, the EMPTY pan does not sit flat. It tilts/lifts back toward the handle. The Circulon CS rep agreed this to be a design flaw and asked me to return the pan to CT; meanwhile she will have a couple of pans pulled from inventory to be checked. I give this pan 2 stars for: a) being the right size I need (good small pans at a reasonable price are hard to find). b) can be used on an induction range. Unfortunately I never had the chance to use it, so can't comment on its frying ability.

Yeah the regular prices for this and many other CT cookware items are a bit far fetched, but thank goodness they have great sales on frequently. I can't rate this circulon pan on durability until I've had it a year or two at least, but I can say it is a heavy well made little pan. I tried the inexpensive carbon steel pans used by many restaurant kitchens, they can sure take the abuse, but they require seasoning and one has to be careful about how they clean them. I got rid of most of my old teflon or similar coated pans after noticing they were all flaking and thinking that can't be good for my health. But after a while with a carbon steel pan I missed the convenience of non stick. I tried the white ceramic stuff. Maybe it was that particular brand but I hated it. Stuff burned and stuck and the black stain wouldn't come off even with the salt rub technique. Looked awful on a white bottom pan. My little circulon has a heavy enough bottom that it isn't tippy on a flat surface, it's oven safe to 500F, lifetime replacement, and dishwasher safe. Also the nonstick system is okay for metal utensils. What's not to like when it's on sale for 70% off?

This is not my favourite 7.5-incher, but I've cooked omelets on it and it does a perfectly good job. My only quibble is its tippiness (because of the handle) and its price. Get it on sale, and you will be pleased.
