Requires some care but really pretty!

Complements a silver car. After the winter, I use vinegar with a cloth to remove salt film from the frame and a toothbrush with vinegar for the "diamonds". I think the finish would pit if not cleaned as it is not as durable as the chrome on the car. Still looks really good after 3 winters.

Not made for Canadian Weather

I purchased 2 of these in December and 3 months later all the nice shiny chrome finish is gone. The product looks dull and "cloudy". This item did not even keep it's appearance after one very mild winter. For something that is made to attach to the outside of your vehicle and sold in CANADA, it should be made to withstand the weather. After only 3 months, these covers now look about 20 years old. I plan on removing them and returning them to the store.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Quebec law about this frame is this license plate frame legal according to montreal(quebec)laws?it shows number and province but hides je me souviens,is that legal?All other frames sold on canadian tire are legal in quebec?

A: We have spoken with the vendor and they reviewed the plate. The plate appears legal. You need to mount the plate with the 2 top 2 holes lined up. That way it won’t cover up ‘Je me souviens”. It only covers the wording on the license plate if the plate is slid to the bottom of the frame, but then you wouldn’t be able to attach it to the top.

Q: Is this available in black without diamonds? Just a black frame that the plate slides into and bolts at the top is what I am looking for.

A: Yes 37-2374 Would provide just a simple black frame made of plastic. If a metal frame is preferred there is the 037-2305 which has a black powder coated finishes but bolts at the top and bottom.
