Bought one a year ago. I start it every 4 months. It starts every time. Battery stays charged. Propane stays fresh. I let it run for about 15 min. Had to use it for about 4 hours during a power outage. Now we have a 80mph wind warning. It started right up. Just bought another propane tank just in case. Bought a small trash can shed for it.

Great concept

Love the idea of the dual fuel since I have a travel trailer which runs on propane, the dual fuel provides the option if I happen to run out of gas. The only problem is, I’m experiencing shut down for no reason. I’ve reached out to Champion and they have been very good at support, however it’s been too cold here in Quebec to properly test the adjustments that Champion support has suggested.

Q: Do you need to leave the battery switch in the on position after starting to charge the battery? I could not find any information on the battery switch after starting the generator in the user manual. It mentions that it recharges the battery but I'm not sure if the switch needs to be left on?
