Q: My manual states "10W-30 All weather air compressor oil is recommended for general use" Is this oil equal?

    • A: The Campbell Hausfeld oil is a 30 weight non-detergent oil, which is recommended for air compressor pumps. CH does advocate the usage of either a 5W30 full synthetic oil (for cold weather conditions) or 10W30 full synthetic (for normal weather conditions).

Q: Can i use This oil With The Mastercraft 8G Air compressor Just wondering wether this oil can be used with the Mastercraft 8G Compressor

    1 Answer
    • A: Yes this is the correct oil. The engine oil changing process for the 58-7914 8 gallon MC Compressors is as follows: 1) Have the rear of the unit facing you. This is the end that is opposite the handle assembly. 2) Locate the oil plug, at the top of the motor (aka - engine block). 3) Approx 3- ½" inches directly below the oil plug you should see the oil-sight glass. (Shows the oil level in the unit) 4) Immediately below the oil sight glass at the bottom of the engine block (motor) there is a 10mm (hex-head) bolt. (Oil drain bolt) 5) Ensure that you have placed a receptacle below the bolt to catch the draining oil, remove the bolt by turning it to the left. 6) Raise the front end of the compressor by using the handle assembly. And drain the remainder of the used oil into the receptacle/container. 7) Once the oil has drained return the compressor to a level position and insert the oil drain bolt back into the bottom of the motor (engine block). Tighten up the oil drain bolt but do not over tighten. Over tightening may cause cracked motors or warping which can lead to oil leaks and related repairs that may not be covered by the product warranty. 8) Add the new oil into the engine block, by removing the oil-plug and pouring oil through the oil plug opening. Fill to the required operating amount by using the oil sight glass to determine the proper level. The correct level is to somewhere within the red-circle. Do not overfill or underfill. 9) Ensure that a 30-weight, non-detergent, single viscosity compressor oil such as that sold under the Campbell-Hausfeld brand is used. Canadian Tire carries this under product number 58-8143. (16oz container). 10) Re install the oil plug. The oil level should be checked after every use.
