Q: Is this product suitable for outdoor use? Will it be slow to warm up like other CFL's?

A: I am not certain about Globe Electric bulbs. You may wish to try Sylvania 13W CFLs. They take 1 to 2 minutes max to warm up to full intensity and provide very bright light - you can see the lights illuminating the house from 2 blocks away. I have been using them outdoors for at least 7 years and have had no problems. Four of the fixtures are closed and one is open at the bottom. I change the bulbs very infrequently. The bulbs last from 18 months to 2 years. My outdoor lights are on year round from sundown to sunup for security purposes.
