A: The ready light will go out when the waffle is done. You may cook longer to achieve a crispier waffle. Keep the lid closed during the cooking of waffles to preserve heat.

Q: Is the lid of the waffle iron supposed to say up? The lid is quite heavy (with no suspension to regulate its weight) and from my observations, it doesn't let the waffle batter rise so it would cook light and fluffy. I even put extra batter in once(220mL) with no difference.

A: Yes on the model WMB500 the lid is to be closed during use.
