Motor Burned out in 6 months

Bought it for the bedroom - and while it was working it did a good job, but after just under 6 months the blower motor burned out. Our Honeywell is still going after 2 problem free years.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Cleans the air very well

I live in a condominium and the neighbour smokes and it comes into my bedroom by seeping through the walls.
Since I bought this air cleaner I have neither smelled smoke or the woman's perfume.
I am very happy with my purchase.

Great features & performance - poor reliability

I purchased the Bionaire Tower Air Purifier a few weeks ago. Seemed to be a bit pricey at the time, but it had great features, and capacity for medium to large rooms. The fit and finish of is excellent, and it looks like the build quality follows suit. It really leaves the air cleaner, removing cat dander and other air-borne pollutants. Previously you could smell a characteristic animal smell from our two indoor cats, in our basement. The animal smell is completely gone due to the ionization feature, which leaves the air smelling noticeably fresher.
All in all we were VERY pleased with this unit, until it broke down after running for just over a week. No power. Canadian Tire exchanged it without question, and I took a replacement home. The replacement died today after running for just over a week too. No power again. Bionire customer service were pretty sympathetic, confirming it was dead, and advising to take it back for a replacement, different model or different brand. I plan to replace it with another brand tomorrow.
Although this review doesn't exactly end well, I hope it is of some use to someone out there considering buying this unit. I would have given it 5 starts for quality, had two of them not died on me.

Q: Where can I find the replacement carbon filters AOR31? Canadian tire carries the AER1 filters but I cannot find the carbon filters except on the Bionaire US website

This filter is no longer available in Canada, but you may use an alternative carbon filter. Just cut it out if it is too large compared to the original one. Have a nice day!
