UNE TRÈS BONNE REMORQUE TOUT USAGE

J'ai acheté cette remorque Swisher de 16 pc pour remplacer un modèle John Deere 10 pc devenu trop petit après l'achat d'un plus gros tracteur de jardin.
J'ai demandé à prendre possession de l'article non assemblé afin de le monter moi-même: j'ai ainsi le loisir d'inspecter chaque pièce et sa qualité. Dans ce cas-ci, aucun problème. L'assemblage est simple et tous les morceaux y étaient. Je prends soin d'appliquer une fine couche de graisse sur toutes les pièces métalliques et surtout aux endroits où ces pièces sont jointes ensemble: prévention contre l'apparition précoce de corrosion.
L'ensemble est robuste et facile à utiliser. Comme sur toutes les remorques de ce genre, le déchargement par bascule de la benne est plus où moins efficace et on doit le compléter manuellement. La remorque porte aisément la charge indiquée dans ses spécifications, soit 800 livres de matériel #terre et pierre concassée, selon l'usage que j'en ai fait#. Les gros pneus et le haut dégagement au sol permettent d'évoluer sans problème en terrain inégal ce qui, dans mon cas, est un atout puisque je l'utilise pour récupérer le bois coupé sur mon domaine. Axes de roue portés par des roulements à bille scellés dont les sceaux peuvent être retirés au besoin.
MAIS: les graisseurs #zerks# ne desservent pas adéquatement ces roulements et un sur deux, pour chaque roue, se retrouvera sans graisse si vous n'utilisez que cette manière de les lubrifier. Il est préférable de démonter le sceau des roulements et y installer manuellement la graisse. Si vous évoluez régulièrement à bonne vitesse en milieu humide, vous devrez prêter une attention suivie à cet entretien.
MAIS: j'ai constaté que lorsque la benne de plastique est pleine de matériel pondéreux #terre, cailloux#, elle s'affaisse un peu et ploie sur le cadre d'acier. Craignant une détérioration à long terme, j'y ai apporté le correctif suivant. J'ai installé sur le cadre, soit sous la benne elle-même, une pièce de contreplaqué d'usage extérieur de 3/4" de pouce d'épaisseur, le tout étant assujetti par des boulons plus longs que ceux d'origine. Absence subséquente de flexion et une impression de grande solidité. Ces deux "mais" justifient les quatre étoiles plutôt que cinq. Je recommande toutefois le produit, dans la mesure où vous prenez en compte ces limitations. UNE TRÈS BONNE REMORQUE TOUT USAGE.

This trailer is of exceptional quality. For people who intend on using it through rough terrain, there is no other choice. The frame is heavy duty and well made and the U frame provides excellent ground clearance for going over stumps and any other trail obstruction you may encounter. Well worth the money at its frequent sale price.

Excellent Trailer

We purchased this trailer to haul stuff around the yard and it works great. It's light weight, durable, easy to tow, easy to hook up, easy to dump, etc. I especially like the U shaped axle design and the larger tires. I even use it on the lake to go ice fishing in the winter! Buy this on sale and you won't be disappointed!

Great for hauling almost anything

I purchased this trailer after borrowing the 20 cubic foot model from a friend and liking it. I really like the arched axle supports as it never gets hung up on anything in the bush. Unlike my old trailer that had a straight axle that wouldn't clear any debris or forest fodder. I am very happy with my purchase but I was concerned with how the plastic tub is attached to the frame. I am sure it would hold up but I was concerned that if I loaded it up the plastic might bend and rub the tires. I made a 1"x2" steel frame to support the tub to make sure it won't bend but my friend said that he felt it was unnecessary as his has held up just fine. I still am glad I made the support as I have no worry's about loading it up to the max.

Cette petite remorque est super. Une seul petite chose que je n'aime pas c'est lorsque qu'on vide la remorque, la tobe n'est pas assez haute de terre et on doit mettre autant d'effort pour la vider que pour la remplir.

Q: Do the wheel bearings need to be greased? No information in the instructions concerning lubricating the wheel bearings. There are zerks on the bearings. I tried to grease them and the grease didn't seem to go in.

A: These wheel bearings are “sealed units” and do not require grease. The zerks are still on the hubs (and can be misleading) but we are in the process of running down this style of wheel with the zerks currently.

Q: Width across Wheels Can someone tell me the width across the wheels. I see from the parts list that the frame and wheels are different from the 20 cu.ft. model. (also looking the 20 cu.ft. models width) Thanks

A: Received this reply from the manufacturer. "The width of the carts are 48" for the 20 cub ft. and 42.5" for the 16 cub ft. '

Q: Ground clearance? This trailer is advertised to have 18" of ground clearance. Looking at an assembled model in the Aurora store, The ground clearance was barely 12". Is the description incorrect or was the display model at the Aurora store assembled incorrectly?

A: The model assembled at the Aurora store is an older style of 16 cu ft ATV trailer (aprox 2 years old). We have since updated this ATV trailer with the improved, 18” clearance.
