design/battery problems

The light cannot be used while plugged in. You must unplug it and let the battery drain while in use.
The battery deteriorates after very light use (~1 hr per year). After one year, the light only lasts 30-60 minutes. I'm writing this poor review because after four years, the light won't even turn on anymore (i.e., the battery is totally dead).
I'm lead to believe that this is a disposable unit by design. They want you to buy another one every few years. Very poor quality.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This happened...POP...Smoke

So, I bought two of these lights a while a go and they worked great, bright. Stand a little flimsy. It could be hung up or used as a emergency light.As it would come on if plugged in and the power switch is on, if the power went out.
But, after about the 10th charges or so...There was a pop sound and it started to smoke.
Was charging the same way every time (thru a power bar)
Lucky for me I was working beside the light at the time to cut the power to it as it continued to smoke.
I can NOT recommend this light to anyone and definitly not charge it overnight or during the day if no one is home to watch it.

Q: How many lumens? What's the light colour? How long does it take to charge? How long does the battery last? Is it 12 V. DC; Can I plug it in the car? This is basic info. that should be provided.

A: Thank you for your question. Please see the responses below: Lumens: 720 Lumens Light Color: White How long does it take to charge: 25 hours for initial charge; normal charging time: 8-10 hrs. Charge the unit regularly for 8 hours every 3 months to avoid battery drain. Max Power Output: 7V 3.5W NOT 12V DC Can I plug it in the car? NO We are currently looking into how long the battery lasts. We will update this information shortly.
