    Product Details

The BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain T/A® Tire features the brand's signature shoulder design. This tire's serrated shoulder blocks enhance traction in soft-soil environments, allowing it to maintain powerful traction even in extremely cold temperatures.

    Snow Peak Rated

The 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol indicates the tire is rated for Severe Snow Service. This is the acceptable standard for winter driving in Canada and provides improved safety on snow and ice.

    Mud And Snow Rated

The M+S symbol differentiates an All-Season tire from a Summer only tire. While rated for light snow, they will not match a winter tire for traction or stopping distance on snow and ice.

    • Signature shoulder design gives the tire a powerful look

    • The 3-Peak Mountain Snow Rating denotes the severe snow driving capability of the Trail-Terrain T/A®

    • Trail-Terrain T/A® features full-depth 3D sipes that create plenty of grip in any condition without compromising road noise

    • Exhibits powerful traction long after the mercury drops

    • Ensure compatibility with your vehicle before purchase

    Really disappointed (winter performance mainly)

After hearing so many good things about BFG tires over the years I decided to get a set of the Trail terrain tires because on paper they were exactly what I wanted in a tire - a more on-road oriented all-terrain tire while still being 3-peak rated and good in the winter. While I am not overly impressed by the dry road performance, I could definitely live with. They definitely aren't the best handling tires but they are capable enough for some light off-roading and are fairly quiet on the road. I also thought that they would have a bit less rolling resistance translating to better fuel economy but that hasn't been the case for me. What I am extremely disappointed by is the winter performance. Over the past week, the roads near me have been snow covered and these tires are just awful in winter conditions. I previously had Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws and last winter with only aroun 40% tread life on them, they were way more predictable and better handling than these. They just don't seem to have enough biting edges side to side because the back end of my truck will just step out mid corner. I also spin far more from a stop than I did with my previous all-terrains. I honestly feel that these should not have a 3-peak rating because are no better in winter conditions than your average all-season tires and that is just not acceptable. Canadian Tire's test scores were one of the biggest reasons I purchased these tires, the high scores in ice and snow make no sense to me and make me question how these tests are conducted (certainly not on Canadian winter roads).

No, I do not recommend this product.

We've had these tires on our Yukon for 3 years, we've put over 100,000km on them. They perform great in all seasons as an everyday tire on our family hauler. They are nice and quiet. We live in Ontario, cold and snowy weather are not an issue. We just ordered our replacement set, going with the same tires.

I have put 12,000 miles on these tires and am not impressed. I bought them because I wanted a tire that had road manners, but were still capable to do some exploring, these do neither well. On paved roads they are awful in the rain. They spin and slide at every stop light. In the snow they are just as bad. Often getting stuck in the typical unplowed parking lot. They were supposedly "designed to resist chipping and tearing on gravel" but it seems gravel is the greatest issue. Two separate tires have gotten punctures this month from nothing more than your typical gravel road. Both punctures split the tire and lost all air in a couple feet stranding me. This is not what would be expected from the "Trail Terrain." I would not recommend these tires to anyone as they are not good in inclement weather, mediocre on pavement and do not offer any advantage on the trail.

Q: Are these 6 ply tires? BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain T/A Tire

    2 Answers
    • A: Hello! These tires do not have a “ply” reference like some LT tires. It refers to an old way to manufacturing tires – number of plies when the tire were bias. Now as radial tire, you should refer to the load index – ISO international – for each tire. The load index for this tire is 108. The load index refers to a specific maximum load the tire can support at its maximum inflation pressure.

    Q: Is it a 10 ply tire

    1 Answer
    • A: Thank you for your question! The Trail-Terrain T/A has 55 sizes. Each one has a different load capacity. The 10 ply designation refers to a certain load capacity but it will depend on the sizes. 10 ply designation on the tire is LRE. The Trail-Terrain T/A has no such designation but many has XL extra load designation. The best is to verify the load capacity required for your vehicle and compare to the load capacity of the tire. Hope this helps!
