Everything You Need to Know About Flap & Fibre Resin Discs for Grinders

You can utilize these discs with your grinder whether you’re looking to dress sharp welds or smooth down pieces of furniture. Grinding discs can be used for sharpening tools, trimming concrete blocks, flatten wood pieces, remove rust from objects, and more. Polishing discs can be used to clear up, maintain, and give metallic surfaces a shine. They can also be used for deburring and finishing projects and are used in the automotive industry to buff and polish the exterior of motor vehicles.

What are resin discs used for?

Resin discs, also known as fibre resin discs, are grinding and polishing accessories used for light deburring, finishing, smoothing, rust removal, and more grinding tasks to refine your workpieces. They are available in 2 pack to 4 pack sets, can have grit counts between 24 and 120, and can have diameter sizes up to 7-in to cover large areas.

How do you use resin fiber discs?

To use a resin fiber disc, you need a size-compatible backing pad and arbor set as available in cutting and grinding accessories.

1) Install the backing pad onto the shaft of the angle grinder

2) Insert the spindle lock arbor nut into the centre of the resin fibre disc

3) Twist in the arbor attached to the resin fibre disc into the angle grinder

4) Tighten the arbor attachment into the angle grinder using an angle grinder wrench available in grinder & cutting wheels.

5) Use the power switch on your grinder to get started once all attachments are properly secure.

What is the flap disc used for on a grinder?

The flap disc is a long-lasting and strong abrasive attachment used for grinding, sanding and polishing tough materials. They can be used to shape and level metal sheets, give smooth finishes to wooden surfaces, and remove layers of paint. They are designed to be used with your angle grinder and can be available in diameter sizes between 4.5-in to 5-in. You can also select between grit numbers ranging from 40 to 120 depending on how smooth of a grind or finish you’re going for.
