Zone valves get stuck in the off position

I bought this in April and have yet to get it operating correctly. One zone works on manual so I can hand water. The other zones connected to the drip systems sometime work on manual if I shut off and on multiple times. When set to automatic the watering icon appears but the water does not flow through the system. I called the recommended 1-800 number and was told a reset was needed and that an email would be sent explaining how to reset. The email didn't arrive. I reset several times according to the small brochure that came with the product. Nothing works and my garden is drying out.
