Q: I have a Mastercraft weedeater. The plastic piece that holds the spool in place has broken. It is a round cap with approximately 3/4 inch extensions on either side. Can this be purchased?

Q: Just unpacked this unit and read through the manual but it does not explain how to wind new string onto an empty spool. Is it possible to rewind the spool with new line after it empties?
6 years agoA: Yes. Your trimmer is designed to use only line with a maximum diameter of 1.65 mm. Take approximately 3 m of line. Insert 15 mm of line into the spool holes and wind line in the direction of the arrows on the top of the spool. Leave approximately 100 mm of line unwound and place it into the cleat. Care should be taken to ensure that the line is neatly coiled on the spool. Failure to do so will impair the efficiency of the automatic line feed.
