Had mine since 2008 and I'm not the original owner. It's a 2005 model and this week finally had to replace the drive and transmission belts, and I'm not complaining at all. This tractor has performed flawlessly since I've owned it. Sure it has a tear in the seat and the finish has dulled, but mechanically it works great. Because of the poor performance my wife thought we should buy a new one, but replacing those 2 belts brought it back to A1 condition.Really can't say that Yard Machine is better because MTD make over 60 lawn tractors, but I'm happy with mine.

A: Thank you for your question. If your specific model has a Briggs & Stratton engine it uses SAE30 engine oil (conventional or synthetic are both approved). If your model is newer with a Yardworks or PowerMore engine it uses SAE10W30 engine oil (conventional or synthetic are both approved).
