It does not repel mosquitoes at all. They continue to swarm around us despite having two of these devices engaged and right beside us.

It Works

I know it works because I had little gnats or something flying around my head. Soon after I turned it on they left. The only drawbacks are the price of the refills and the fact that twice we've forgotten to turn it off and totally drained the cartridge. An Auto-off feature would be wonderful!

Works fantastic on mosquitos and sandflies

I've used our thermacell products (we have both types) in areas with tons of mosquitos (north Idaho) and outdoors in the summer. You can literally see a wall of mosquitos just at the edges of coverage but within - nothing. We even took it to the south island of New Zealand to help with the sandflies. It was amazing. Highly recommend these products.

Bought the thermacell for boyfriend for his daughter's outside wedding in the summer and it was great. The refills now make a great stocking stuffer. Unfortunately they arent cheap!

Q: I purchased this product that came with one refill included. It appears to have liquid left but the wick is dark is it time to replace the cartridge? I have gotten bit the last 2 nights using it.
