Chain keeps coming off

The chainsaw has plenty of power but the chain comes off after only a few cuts. I am spending more time putting the chain back on than I am sawing

No, I do not recommend this product.

Works great for clearing storm tree damage

I had an older chainsaw die on the job so went ahead and picked this worx 14" model up in a pinch to replace it. Right out of the box (adding b+c oil first) and using some 5AH Pro batteries I already have, I went back to jobsite and was very satisfied with the performance of this saw.

Worx saw is great for me to use on my farm. No worrying about gas, cords or getting my husband to find the time to help. I can do it myself. And price was good. I cleaned up a whole shelter belt with this saw after a bad storm. 6 trees down and many limbs. All the Worx’s tools a great.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Leaks Oil, Oil damages electrics

Avoid. Saw began leaking oil after a few months, worsened over time. Now after 3 years the electric components are fouled by the oil oozing around inside the case. Switches, controls, terminals covered in oil. Cause looks to be a the poor seal around the rubber tube leaving the oil tank. The tube itself is degraded but the rubber grommit is ok, so there is a small gap. Worx response is to empty the oil after each use. Super super lame now my chainsaw is garbage due to design fault. Glad I didn’t buy into the system.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Worx Customer Service
Hello There! Thank you for sharing your experience and review! We greatly appreciate your honest feedback as it gives us a better understanding of where we need to improve. The auto-drip system is controlled by pressure built up in the chamber, if oil is left in the tool while storing this pressure will cause the tool to continuously push oil out which is why we recommend to empty the tool and keep the oil cap loosened within storage. However, if you would like to provide us with additional feedback regarding your tool, please feel free to email us at worx-reviews@positecgroup.com and we’ll be glad to assist you. Thank you for choosing Worx!

Q: The chain on my new 14" chain saw jumped off the bar on the first use,how do I get it back on the bar?

  • A: I have this chainsaw, and resetting the chain seems easier than other chainsaws. It took me a while to figure out how to get the tension right. This can happen when doing prolonged cutting, or if cutting from difficult angles. Also, maybe obvious, but please remember to fill the chamber with bar and chain oil as without it, you can get in a bind.

Q: what is the largest trees circumference this saw can handle?

Originally posted on worx.com

  • A: Hello There, Thank you for your question. To fell a standing tree, it’s recommended that you use a bar longer than the diameter of a tree. To cut a tree that has already fallen, you can cut up to double the bar length minus a couple of inches by making two cuts, one from each available side of the tree. For example: If the bar is 16” you can cut a log up to 30” in diameter. Thank you for choosing WORX!
