Terrible mechanism

We bought these chairs because the reviews were great, and although they were quite pricey, we believed they would last us for years. We’ve never had an issue spending more on camping gear for comfort and durability.
Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. After just one day at the beach, sand seemed to get stuck in the mechanism, and the chairs wouldn’t close. Keep in mind, we were on a camping trip in the U.S., so this was a major inconvenience. After struggling quite a bit (and attracting plenty of attention from people around us), we eventually managed to fold them.
However, the same issue happened again later by the campfire. At that point, we were exhausted and decided not to take them back to the beach, worried we wouldn’t be able to pack them again—and that’s exactly what happened.
In the end, we had to leave the chairs behind because they wouldn’t fold, and there was no way they would fit into the trunk while open. It was especially frustrating given the price—$250 for two chairs.
To make matters worse (or maybe a bit amusing in hindsight), several people on the beach tried to help us fold them, and it turned into a bit of a spectacle, with others even placing bets on who could do it. Unfortunately, no one succeeded.
I really wanted to love these chairs, but this experience was incredibly disappointing. I just wish I had the chance to return them.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Comfy chair

I’m really impressed with the Woods camping chair. It’s lightweight but sturdy, making it super easy to carry on hikes or to the campsite. The fabric feels durable and the frame is solid, so I feel confident it will last for years. It’s also surprisingly comfortable — the seat is wide enough and supportive for long sits around the fire. Definitely worth the price and I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys camping or outdoor activities

- A: I don’t think think so. The coyote tan colour it comes in is great for camping and hiding all dirt. It also washes really well (air dried). My dog uses it as his personal bed.5 years agoHelpful?

- A: You remove the fabric and fold up the frame, the fabric is then wrapped around the frame and stuffed in the bag. (often a two-person job). There is also a quick folding option for carrying the chair around short distances.10 months agoHelpful?

- A: Thanks for your enquiry into our popular WOODS Mammoth Chair. All outdoor furniture is produced from materials that have a coating on the fabric to reduce the amount of water that can penetrate the skin when used outside. Besides big very large and bulky to even fit into your dryer – if you place the chair skin in there you will destroy the coating and damage the materials. Your best way to clean and dry the chair skin is to use a mild detergent on a cloth to wipe it down first, then either rinse with warm water (spray from a hose works!) or at least use a clean cloth to wipe off the detergent residue – then hang to dry. The skin needs to be 100% dry before stowing away for the winter, or you run the risk of mold/mildew forming while it is tucked away in the carry bag. Hope that helps!2 years agoHelpful?
