Q: Can this be used on fabrics?
I need this for carpet beetles, which are fabric insects but it's listed for structural use. What about applying to a rug, leaving then steam cleaning before reapplying? What about pet safety? Any advice appreciated.

A: It's odd that Canadian Tire says it's does not list carpet beetles in their answer post. If you click on the features of this product it lists carpet beetles right there.

Q: Is this safe to use around pets and children? Is it for indoor or outdoor use?

A: Caution. Many pesticides and mosquito repellents are toxic to cats. I think this contains permethrin or allethrin or some variation which is highly toxic to cats and fish.
This one will leave a residue so I think outdoor use where the sun and rain can break it down is safer than indoors.
Safe for humans, dogs, rabbits, rodents, birds but not cats.

Q: Where can yo buy refills? Waste of money if you only have to throw out sprayer.

1 Answer
A: We appreciate you wanting to recycle, reuse, and reduce the number of bottles going into our landfills, but pesticides in Canada are highly regulated by the PMRA. The PMRA (Pest Management Regulatory Agency a division of Health Canada) have very stringent rules and regulations that must be adhered to in order for a pesticide to be assigned a P.C.P. Act Registration Number, and therefore be deemed safe to use, when used as directed on the label. Ready to Spray pesticides products do not have refills, or concentrates that may be mixed up and used as refills. The PMRA feels this would increase the risk of exposure, or spills.

Q: Is this product effective for bugs (like gnats) that come from plants and is it safe to use around house plants?
1 Answer
A: Wilson Home Pest Control has not been registered for control of insects in the soil, such as Gnats. A better choice would be Green Earh Bio-Mist Insect Killer Concentrate (059-3701-6). It does list gnats, and may be used both indoors, and outdoors.

Q: Per Prev Q&As, if doesn't work for pantry moth larvae, how can I be certain it will kill carpet beetle larvae?
No full carpet beetles seen but larvae under folded part of carpet. I'm sure they're carpet beetles due to affect on rug. Will it still work on them? Trying to avoid throwing out rug if can rid them. Anything else I should look for aside from rug?

1 Answer
A: It should still be effective provide there is some direct contact to the insects during spraying. Be sure to spray into areas where larvae have been discovered. Label states: "To control Carpet Beetles: Spray edges of carpeting, and under carpeting, and rugs for approximately 10 seconds duration. Make localized application to floor and baseboards. Spray directly into cracks, crevices and infested areas of shelving. Repeat treatment as needed." Permethrin, the active ingredient, also has a residual action to help control insects once it has dried. Depending on the fibres that the carpet is made from, may indicate the larvae are a different species. Steam cleaning the carpet may be of some benefit.

Q: Can this be used to kill pantry moths?
1 Answer
A: Wilson Home Pest Control has not been registered for the control of pantry moths, and therefore we cannot guarantee it. That being said if the spray was to directly contact the actual moth it most likely would control it, but would have very little effect on the pupating larvae. To effectively control to control the moths before they reproduce try the Green Earth Pantry MothTrap (059-4016-2). It will lure them in and kill them before the can mate.

Q: Will Wilson Home Pest Control Spray kill PSOCIDS, also known as Book Lice?
I have an infestation in my basement, we removed all books and cardboard boxes, there is no food or crumbs, have cleaned with bleach and have the humidity set below 30 and they are still there!!
1 Answer
A: Regrettably, Wilson Home Pest Control has not been registered for the control of Book Lice (Psocids mites), and therefore we have no data that states it will work, nor can we legally recommended it. If you would like to contact us at 1-800-268-2806 we would be happy to discuss your infestation further.
