A: Hello Lodder81, We don't recommend using this product to control carpenter ants. We don't have any products registered for carpenter ants. We recommend, based on the damage that this pest can do, to contact a professional exterminator.

A: Hello Mkty, It is best to keep pets away from the area while dusting, but once it settles it should be fine around pets. What appears to be a fine powder to humans and animals, is actually very sharp to ants and causes cuts in their shell causing them to dehydrate. A very light dusting is best so that it will allow insect the ability to move through it quickly. To heavy and they will avoid going through.

A: Hello Nanny Burd, Even though it may seem logical to use it on food, diatomaceous earth, as with any registered product, can only be used on the use sites identified on the product label. Therefore, this product can only be recommended for use around building foundations, window and door sill, patios, porches, along ant trails, around gardens and under hedges, shrubs and trees. Therefore not around food crops. Thank you
