Not really portable

I purchased this for using inside of my clothing and gear storage containers. I wondered why when I plugged it in, that it didn't have any kind of charge indicator. After leaving it plugged in overnight, and it wouldn't power on, I figured out this unit Does NOT have a battery. It has to be plugged in to operate. The naming of the 12 Volt charger is completely misleading. It is only an adaptor.
