Not a 'tap and go' - awesome.

Bought this two years ago, specifically because I was fed up with the 'tap and go' on two previous trimmers. Felt that the simplicity of inserting your own pre-cut line might be the way to go. I am very pleased with the line set-up. I bought 50' and cut the pieces as needed. I may never get through all that line. It starts every time with 2 -3 pulls. Instructions say to push primer 10 times and not to touch the throttle. Works. Once it runs for about 15 seconds you can then use the throttle. Power is more than adequate and I can do my yard twice with one piece of line. It is a 65' x 110' yard with an average amount of trimming but most of it against flower garden cement retaining stones which can be tough on trimmer lines. Be sure to run it dry in the fall before storing and use a fresh batch of gas/oil in the spring (40:1). Just filled it for beginning of third summer of use and it started like new.

Maybe this would be ok for tiny green spaces, but for regular to heavy use this is not the right product. Also, if you like to leave these jobs a little longer than usual, then buy something with a lot more power. A disappointment.

Good trimer for the price

I bough this trimmer last year after my electric one quit working. This trimmer is decent for average sized yards. Could use some more power in thicker grass. Stalled out in some tall grass ( 1ft). I seem to have to change cutting wire often. For the price it does the job, and I would recommend it.

Q: Fixed line head I am not familiar with fixed line head. How does this compare with the bump and go. If you have to replace line everytime you would bump out more line it seems like it would be a slow process to whipper snip.

- A: In fixed head systems, individual lengths of line are loaded into the trimmer one at a time as needed. Advantages to this system include: -no jamming or tangling of trimmer line -no need to re-spool trimmer line once empty - can be difficult and time consuming -option to use thicker gauge of line decreasing wear and break reducing overall line consumption12 years agoHelpful?
Q: Accessories Will this trimmer accept attachments for pruning and brush cutting? I don't like the fishing line trimmers and would want to replace with something more substantial.
