    Worked Great for Painting lattice

After reading several mixed reviews on this and several other sprayers, I decided on purchasing this one on sale at CT. I needed it to paint the lattice work on my deck and fence because I decided after 4 hrs of brush painting 2 4x8 panels that if I didnt try a sprayer then I would never get the project finished. This sprayer worked great for my solid stain. The longest part was just tarping up the house to prevent overspray and I had the other 3/4 of the job done in an hr and a half, including cleanup. The only con I have so far is that it doesnt hold alot of paint. Make sure youre aware of when it is getting low bc it will start to sputter paint. I had to use the brush to spread those spots out the first time. Then after I turned the knob to lower the amount of paint that comes out and made sure to refill after before it got empty. I would recommend for small jobs for this reason. This sprayer made my life alot easier and did a much better job than the brush was doing for me.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Not Impressed

Bought this, decided to remove the nozzle/sprayer part & check it out before adding any stain to it as you need to do that after to clean it. Well it unscrewed just fine but when I went to screw it back together again it would not screw on straight, I tried it over a dozen times with no luck at all. Am taking it back unused!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Good for staining

I used one of these for staining a pretty large deck with the more expensive Thompson 1-coat (picked it up on sale though ;) ). Including the brush work close to walls/doors (where you don't wanna be spraying stain) and cleanup, it took me a grand total of 3 hours. Otherwise, the job would have taken 8-9 hours. The unit almost paid for itself in a single job and the fence is still waiting, along with the remaining 3.5gal of Thompson ;) Pros: Great time/back saver, easy cleanup Cons: If you don't screw on the canister TIGHT, it will drip and create a mess, noise, going through more stain (2.5gal as opposed to 1.5gal est.) and vibration Overall: Buy it for staining decks, fences, patio furniture (if wooden stuff is still being made) and lattice-work. I haven't tested it with latex paints. Even though it looks like it has more cons than pros, I'm more than happy with my purchase.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    I wouldn't buy it

It took a while to get the right spray consistantcy which meant paint flying all over the wall and splattering on the floor. Once I found the right spray consitancty, it started dripping out the bottom of the nozzle and all over the floor. Not to mention that the vibration and noise made it very uncomfortable to hold and listen to! Don't waste your time/money buying it.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Great Purchase

I read the manual, thinned the oil-based paint and painted my steam radiators in minutes. The end result was a professional paint job that looks great. Clean up was easy too (I had to use mineral spirits) again I followed the manual and I was done. I must say that the manual was very straight forward and easy to understand. I had been trying for 2 weeks to paint these radiators by hand only to have hard to reach spaces and misses. I must have bought every paint brush on the market with "no" success. Finally, I tried the paint sprayer. I was reluctant at first because the reviews of this product was mixed and the people who bought it didn't seem quite pleased with it. But, I had nothing to lose since I had tried every paint brush imaginable to paint these rads. So, I bought the sprayer, mixed the paint (2 cups oil-based paint and 2 tablespoons of mineral spirits to thin). I called the manufacturer of my paint (Benjamin Moore) and asked them what the proportion of mix should be. I poured it into the cup, attached it to the sprayer, tested the spray and was done in seconds. Clean up was easy too. I wore latex gloves, had some rags and a container of mineral spirits and an old container for pouring the mineral spirits into. I am not a terribly handy individual and if this was easy for me anyone can do it. I even impressed myself. I have twenty radiators to paint....this product pays for itself in time saved, less stress, great finished product, etc. I recommend it.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: hey everyone i was thinking about paint my car a plastidip color and i was just wondering if this gun is up for the task ?

    1 Answer
    • A: No, the plastidip material has a very low flashpoint (highly combustible) and should not be sprayed with any product that has a brush motor which produces a spark. All the handheld sprayers we sell CTC today would have a sparking motor.
