Victor Kill and Seal Hygienic Mouse Trap

Had a little mouse in my pantry cupboard and immediately loaded trap with peanut butter and set up. The mouse went in within minutes BUT it did not instantly kill the mouse. I could hear it scratching to get back out. This is hardly a humane solution if the mouse gets pinned inside but has to die a slow death.

I had read some great reviews about these traps from here and other sources. However, I found these traps to not work. I bought 2 boxes (4 traps) and had issues setting 3 out of the 4 traps - the red leaver wouldn't stay down. The mice go in and feed off the peanut butter, eat the peanut butter and leave - without being killed. I had such high hopes for these traps and I am very disappointed.

I use it for my trailer. Works great, easy to use. Always catches mice without fail. Downside is that if you forget to check it for more then a week it will smell of death(rotting meat).

I don't hold this against Canadian Tire, other than them just carrying it. But do not use this product. We got it home and setting them is a pain in the rear, you have to bend it really far to actually set it and you're worried about breaking it. Then when I Googled to see if we got busted ones I read some reviews where people had the mouse go in, eat the bait, and leave. I hoped it wouldn't happen to us, but you guessed it, it did. I had to re bait the traps 2 or 3 times, which is frustrating. There was clearly mouse trace in the trap. I could hear a clawing or gnawing sound a few rooms over. My worry was that a mouse was getting into something. But it sounded louder and bigger so I worried something else had gotten in. I went and checked the kitchen. It was coming from the cupboard where the traps were, I opened it and noticed one of the traps had gone off. I lifted the other one, that hadn't gone off, first for a weight comparison and of course the second trap was heavier. Just to be sure it wasnt a false set off I opened the bait hole and saw some grey. So what I heard was this poor mouse's last grasp for life. It was sad. Even if you're heartless and don't care about the fact it claims a fast, humane kill that it doesn't provide. It took two or three attempts for the trap to go off. So I would not recommend this trap to someone. I only gave it two stars because it eventually worked, somewhat. There are traps that do something similar, get one of them instead.

Last night a mouse ran across my drop down ceiling above head. I put this trap up there and not 24 hours later he will run no more. Excellent product with no mess or fuss! Highly recommended!
