i have had this holder for years, when they first came out, love it would not buy anything else , yes two way tape failed just bought new tape for it, just broke and going to get another one, money well spent!

Update - DO NOT BUY

Do not buy! The plastic clip is not strong enough to hold your phone in the vent. The slightest accidental brush against your phone will send the holder and phone to the floor. Due to the inability to hang on to the horizontal vent slat when it accidentally falls out it will break the internal vertical vanes on your air vent.

Double sided tape lasted about 1 minute. The clip that is suppose to secure holder to your vent is useless and will not even bear the weight of a cell phone.
