Cheap plastic

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this leaf blower 3 years ago and at the start of the 2nd season the clear plastic housing started breaking. I take very good care of my tools and I’m the only one who uses it. It was never dropped or carried around in the back of a truck or anything like that. I tried fixing it with reinforcements, but they didn’t help. The plastic is just too brittle. I was able to use duct tape to hold it on the best I could, but yesterday a large piece of the housing fell out and now I’m a little worried to use it. I don’t want to lose a finger. I hope you quit making products with this type of plastic. The leaf blower runs good, but I’m really disappointed with this product.

Gets the job done

This gets the job done it packs a good punch and moves pines/small sticks/ect not just leaves. It seems well constructed,,,,the design is simple enough it is a little heavy but not too bad.

Good for a while then, not so much

Worked really well for about a year, then gradually became very hard to start, then started putting out significantly less air. Replaced the fuel filter and fuel lines which helped for a bit, then needed the choke on constantly to even work, then start rope suddenly locked up after a hard stop... Guessing motor is seized.
Also, when it was running this thing was markedly louder compared to other garden equipment I've owned, hearing protection is pretty much a necessity... Neighbours weren't big fans of it, called it the drone.
Plastics on the grip also deteriorated pretty quickly.
Won't be buying a Troy Bilt anything again, disappointing.

Poor Blower

It only runs on fresh gas, if you let this blower sit for a couple of weeks or a month it will not run without the choke on. Month old gas makes this blower hard to get running right. When running properly it still has poor power. This blower was a big disappointment for me, I have a older weedeater brand blower that will do a much better job. I generally like Troy-Bilt stuff, but not this one.
