6 Pairs of Skis? NO!

Got this pair since I can’t fit the cargo box I needed to carry long skis on the roof of my little car (CX3). Works as it should, but I don’t understand how Thule could fit 6 skis. I’m thinking six cross country skis? You’d have to do the math. The width of the carrier as to the forward and aft width from the bindings.

A: This ski rack, along with most other types of racks, require you to already have cross bars on your vehicle. If you have bars that go across your vehicle from passenger side to drivers side in a set of two (one in front, one in back) then it should fit as it fits most rack systems. I'm guessing that since you've asked will it fit your vehicle and not your current rack system that you do not have these bars yet. Most vehicles do not come with these as standard.

A: If your Kia Borrego is equipped with a complete roof rack system including crossbars, this ski carrier should fit the vehicle provided the crossbars are not wider than 3-in. If your vehicle is only equipped with front-to-rear raised rails, you will require a crossbar system for your vehicle before mounting this ski carrier. Fortunately, SportRack offers a crossbar system for raised rails available as Product #40-1085. With this system, you will be able to complete the roof rack system and mount the ski carrier.

Q: Usable on Sportrack bars? It appears this attachment is fitted onto the base racks in the same way as the Sportrack. Would it be possible for this Thule Ski attachment to be mounted on the Sportrack bars, in place of the Poorly reviewed Sportrack ski/snowboard attachment?

A: Yes, this Thule Ski/Snowboard carrier will fit a variety of cross-bar systems including SportRack square bars. This system will also fit Thule square bars, Yakima round bars, and most factory rack systems.

A: This carrier will fit a 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK that is equipped with a complete roof rack system, including crossbars. If your GLK is only equipped with front-to-rear raised rails, you will require a crossbar system. We carry a SportRack system compatible with your vehicle, available as Product #40-1085. Once this rack system is installed, you will be able to fit this Thule ski carrier to your vehicle (as well as other roof rack accessories such as boxes or bike racks).
