Q: does these come in different lengths?

A: Just one length at the canadian tire I was at(could be different at your location). They are 47.5" long.

A: Adopting an artificially shorter grip isn't a good idea, it's more likely to break that way. We can also give a pound equivalent by using a spring scale.
