T-Fal Pro Fryer

I was given this as a gift and it never worked. I told the giver and they had lost the receipt so couldn't return it. I was so disappointed all it did was keep beeping and turn off on me.

So I bought this because if was fifty percent off. Big mistake! I have a feeling that this deep fryer is always on sale to get rid of them. Let me tell you about the good points first. It does have a removable telethon reservoir for easy dumping and cleaning. It also has a magnetic quick release electrical cord for safety. So if you pull the cord by mistake, the hot oil doesn't spill all over you and the floor. Now for the bad points... First of all, the basket doesn't sit flat in the fryer. So food occasionally floats out of the basket and into the main reservoir. Secondly, the filter doesn't really "filter" anything. I get the same results if I take the entire lid off. Third, a small amount of oil dribbled down the front of the fryer. So I thought, no harm done and wiped it off with a paper towel. When I did this, all the ink from the front came off. So now I have a black smudge where the cooking instructions used to be. Also it doesn't have a timer. That would be so easy to add. It's a big pain in the butt. I really don't like this fryer. Please keep in mind that I've only had it for one weekend and I regret the purchase already.

Would highly recommend. Very good product worth the money .

I have only used this about 5 times, but so far it works well for what I like to deep fry. I have made french fries and the falalfels - which came out just like in a restaurant. I read somewhere not to use certain oils - I think in the small guide that comes with this fryer - that you should avoid using olive oil as there is too much smoke from the oil. They are correct!
