Stanley General Tool Box, 145-pc

I picked this up on sale for a friend that is always borrowing tools from one person or another. They desperately needed their own starter set of tools. This fit the bill. It has all the basic tools a beginner needs. Wrenches, sockets, screw drivers, pliers, tape measure, lots of assorted bits and screwdriver heads to use on a nut driver or the ratchet. Comes in a sturdy case that holds everything in place. The only thing missing was a hammer, but those are easy to buy in a variety of sizes, types and weights. They were tickled pink when they received it. I think now, most of the neighbours and family members will be happy to know that their tools are at home in their tool boxes. Good quality name brand, at a great price = can't lose.

This 145 General Tool Set is perfect for a household basic tool set. It has a bit of everything included such as: ratchet/shallow sockets up to 9/16 & 13mm, adjustable wrench, tape measure, bubble level, box cutter, flathead and Phillip's screw drivers, needle nose and slip joint pliers, and sae/metric wrenches up to 1/2"/13mm, metric/sae allan keys, and good size collection of bits for the supplied bit driver handle. I also own a professional amount of mechanic hand tools and specialty tools for motorcycle/automotive use so this kit is perfect to leave inside the house for random household uses such as furniture assembly, random minor household maintenance which does not require specialty tools etc. Even minor automobile work could be feasible using this kit. The tools themselves are quality items and come with a lifetime warranty but likely wouldn't ever need to return anything. The case they come in is an injection molded plastic flip open style with a great locking feature that prevents accidental opening when transporting or storing the case. Overall this seems to be a decent well rounded basic kit.

This set is great to have around the home for small jobs that pop up. Everything is held securely in place, and the hinges are quality moulded plastic that should hold up to some wear and tear better than the cheapie plastic straps.
