Can be very dangerous

I was a die hard fat max user for many years, and wouldn’t use any other tape measure. These last 2 times I made the purchase, the product wasn’t any good. Lucky to get 8’ reach out and gave out in no time. The last one I purchased only lasted maybe 4 months and my spring slipped. I took it apart to rewind the spring but my proper tool to do so was on my job site. So I left it on my porch for a few days. I was inside and my son said he heard hissing but sounded like something broke. The white plastic part holding the spring in, exploded on my porch in hundreds of pieces. Cleaning it up, I noticed so many very small needle like shrapnel was stuck deep in my chair and screen from one end to the other. My son was out there 15 minutes before this happened. Thank god because he would have been pretty hurt. So beware, if the spring slips, just throw it away, it can be a very dangerous product.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Favorite tape

My go to tape measure for layout .when extending out to get a measure withstands a long distance. The numbering is a good size and contrast to see easily

Should be on your tool belt

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Fatmax a couple years ago as a Christmas gift. The 35 feet is a perfect size for almost any job site. The ergonomics and weight is great and isn’t too heavy that it pulls you down. The reach of the tape is good. It’s definitely far from the worst and will each over 8 feet. The 16 inch increments are marked clearly in red as well as the 19.2 increments which are marked by a black diamond. You won’t be disappointed with this tool on your belt.
