I bought this item on the day I was moving because I under-estimated how much I could fit into my little SUV. I was surprised at the extra capacity it gave me.
Drove through some pretty terrible weather and never had an issue with leaks. Assembly was easy with one person.

Its a good box but the mounting hardware is a nightmare. If I had it back i would have spent the extra $150 and bought the Thule. Worth it just because of how it mounts.

It's been a great addition for our family. It is lightweight, but have yet to have an issue with it. Can jam a fair amount in, great for trips and camping, and provides valuable added space. We haven't even noticed that it's up there, empty or full. The only thing that we haven't done is drive through rain yet, but I am not concerned, if it's closed properly.

fits everything i needed and more

So happy i bought this!
Lived out of a van for 6months when work required me to travel to alot of remote places. Anything i didnt use everyday went into the cargo box. It meant i could bring ALOT of luxuries and things that i would normally need to leave out for lack of storage space.
When i got a big city job i kept the Sport rack full of my camping gear so i could just get in the car and head away for the weekend knowing i had everything i needed in the box. No more forgetting sleeping bag or triple checking a 'packlist'!
These racks are made by thule, so u know youre buying from the best in the business. Would definitely recommend.

Très déçu par ce produit. Les pantures ne sont pas assez solides et le couvercle s'aligne mal à la fermeture. La serrure a bloqué après un an (une vingtaine d'usages) et faut maintenant utiliser des pinces! Aussi, il ne ferme pas étanche: poussière et neige entrent à l'intérieur. De plus, le couvercle a déchiré à l'arrière. Sans blague.

Q: Is there something I can use to protect my cross bar where the U mount is attached? Because I worry it will have scratches or dents when tightened. Thanks

A: Sport Rack does not make additionally parts or accessories where the U Bolt is attached on the A90273B. Sport Rack has seen that end-users wrap Black Electricians Tape lightly around the Ubolt or cushion with cut out portions of used bicycle Tire Inner Tubes if an issue. Not officially condoned by Thule or SportRack.

Q: Does the box lock shut with a key? Does it lock with a key to the crossbars, if that is possible?

A: The SportRack Expedition has an exterior lock to secure your cargo while in transit. There is no locking mechanism on the mounting hardware itself but access to the mounting hardware is from within the box which can be locked.

A: This SportRack cargo box should fit a 2012 Audi Q5 if the vehicle is already equipped with a complete roof rack system including crossbars. If your Q5 is only equipped with front-to-rear raised rails, you will require a crossbar system before installing any cargo carrier. It is possible the box may interfere with the rear hatch or antenna of the vehicle. To confirm, measure the length along the roof from the front crossbar of the roof rack system to the rear obstruction (open hatch and/or antenna) – if the length measured is LONGER than 40-5/8” the box will fit without obstruction. If your rear antenna is in the way, it may be possible to temporarily remove it while the box is installed.
