Good quality unit but firmware needs updating. Clock has a mind of its own. Interaction between Android phone could be a lot better and improved.

I has the features I need for a certain application - BT calling, BT streaming, MP3/AAC playback from CD, DVD and USB media, reverse camera input. DVD, AVI, and DIVX playback is a plus It pairs without any issues with the phones I've tested. Some android and a couple of models of iphones. It streams music from these devices as well as from other media players with bluetooth capabilities. The disc transport mechanism handles regular audio CD's, burned CDRs, DVD video, MP3 files written on DVD discs as well as Compressed video files on DVD's. This means that for MP3 alone, you can carry several hundred files on a cheap DVD-R/+R disc as opposed to smaller capacity CDR blanks. Ripped movies in AVI format can also be placed on standard DVD blanks and played on the device. The menu however is rudimentary and somewhat crude and only provide very basic information. Switching between menus take a second or two as opposed to being instantaneous. Naturally the processor on these lower end models will tend to be slower on the higher end units (just like a computer) It has a regular USB front input and a regular Aux stereo front input. As a plus, there is a rear AV RCA input that can be configured to handle an additional external video source (such as a gaming console) or just serve as a regular Audio only input for another MP3 player. The device switches automatically between front and rear inputs depending on which receives the signal first. Video playback is a big plus for a unit of this price. There is also an option to feed via RCA the video to additional monitors (such as those mounted on a headrest) for kids to watch from the back seat. When on sale for under $300 this is almost a steal considering that on my other vehicles with 2-DIN aftermarket units from Kenwood and Pioneer cost me more than 3X a few years back. Those units may have more features and tweaking capability as well as being a lot more powerful but this sony unit seems like a good entry level aftermarket replacement for very basic OEM decks. If you need a monitor for a reverse camera and need bluetooth, then this unit should be more than sufficient
