Insides flew apart after ~10 hours use
Was happy with the job it did until after about 10 hours of use something inside let go and rattles around. I can't even dismantle it now because the parts inside aren't connected. Bought it 8 years ago, it's spent 99.99999% of its life in its case
No, I do not recommend this product.

Don't bother - go for the porter cable or Griot's dual-action
7 years ago
I used this item back in the day before I was serious about detailing. I am not a professional detailer but I have done much research and slowly built up my detailing equipment/products to be what I consider a week-end detailer enthusiast, for my own vehicles. This product does not have enough power, and does not rotate in such a way to be any more beneficial than doing the job by hand. Forget removing scratches or swirls with this. If you want real results, save your $60 and put it towards a proper entry-level polisher such as the Porter-cable 7424XP (often goes on sale) or the Griot's garage dual-action polisher. Buy the right tool once and keep for the rest of your life.

OK for the price
Purchased on clearance, so the price was right. It is what it is, not much more than a wax applicator. Buffing a good quality wax off after applying can take an extra bit of effort. Bonnets are hard to install. If you add any sort of down force the buffer slows significantly. Just let the buffer sit and do its job without applying any force. Real nice feature is the rotating lockable handles which enables you to do vertical surfaces with ease. *NOTE* Another reviewer complained about battery life, this does NOT run on a battery, it plugs into a wall socket.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Not worth the money
Bought this along with the stage 1 and 2 scratch remover/ polish. It did not remove even the minor, minor marks. In my opinion this is only good for putting on wax and that can be done by hand. Instruction book is poor and doesn’t let you know how to tell the applicator pad from the other pads. Only one that is obvious is the foam pad. On and off button in stupid place and comes on by itself while changing the pad. Have to unplug to avoid accident. Wish I never waisted my money on this and bought a proper variable speed polisher.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: Yes, on the CT site, locate the product and one of the tabs says Manual.
Here is the link anyways:

Q: What are the included pads used for?
The instruction manual says to refer to FIG 1, but there is no figure!
There's 2 terry cloth pads. 1 Sponge/foam pad. 1 cloth pad (inside is coated with plastic). What is each used for?

A: The pad with the plastic inside is an "applicator" for applying the polish, etc. The plastic keeps the liguid from soaking through the pad.
Not sure how to best use the sponge/foam pad but I suspect it is there for extra cushioning behind the terry cloth "polishing" pads.
My manual does have a fig 1 but it is very small (about the size of a postage stamp) so you may have missed it. It is a very fuzzy image showing how the pads are stretched over the head. It does not help much. The trick I found was to start the pad just over the head, leaving more pad material for stretching across the head.

Q: Which pad should I be using if I want to apply a scellant to a brand new car?

A: For a new car that does not require a lot of polishing, try to the simonize clay bar to remove any polution buildup and water marks, then you can use a spray wax and the blue cloth to buff off the wax. I mostly use my 10" polisher to buff.

Q: ANNEE DE GARANTIE SUR 39-9055-6
polisseuse SIMONIZ
Q: Is this the right tool to polish ( using rubbing or polishing compound such as 3M Finesse ll) for the gel coat hull of a sail boat
Have oxidation on hull which is fibreglass covered with a gelcoat. Need to take of a very fine layer to restore shine and then will wax.

A: I used my WEN orbital several times for this application. The last use was near the old polishers life span. I don't have the boat now to try it again, but I think it would be fine. Some products want a pure orbital not random orbital polisher, which this is.

Q: Where can you buy replacement cleaning pads for this machine?

A: Do you mean the bonnets that go onto the pad itself ? If so then you can buy replacements at CT. Look under simonize and replacement 10 inch bonnets will come up.
